Hi. I'm Robin @cercxtrova 🤟

Short Bio
I like the problems nobody has quite figured out yet. The ones where the idea is still half-formed, the constraints are messy, and nobody is quite sure what the right solution looks like.
I’m a Senior Ruby on Rails Product Engineer, and I’ve been building production software with Rails professionally since 2018, mostly for B2B SaaS companies. I take complex product problems from “we need to figure this out” to production: clarifying what is actually needed, challenging unnecessary complexity, making the trade-offs, building the solution, testing it, and shipping it.
How I got here
It all started when I was 13, when I discovered that it was possible to hack my PSP — I was fascinated by the idea of being able to run any code on it. So I started learning Lua to create my own games, which I would share on the forums I used to visit at the time.
Programming remained a hobby for a few years, during which I explored different languages, before life led me down other paths.
In 2017, after working in a wide range of fields — from photography to heavy vehicle logistics, as well as sales — I stumbled upon a web development degree program. It immediately brought me back to my early programming days, when I was still just a young noob. I threw myself back into development, and that's when I discovered Ruby, which was a real love at first sight, followed by Ruby on Rails, which hit me with a second slap. I loved it so much that I decided to specialize in Ruby on Rails.
I enjoy coding bots in my free time; I find it fun, go figure.
I do my best work with small, remote, async teams that want an engineer who participates in the thinking, not just someone waiting for instructions. I’m strongly influenced by Getting Real’s philosophy: understand the real problem, reduce unnecessary scope, and prefer simple solutions that can be maintained over time.
After several years building SaaS products for other companies, I’m applying the same product and engineering discipline to validating and building my own B2B software.
